Philippines Update: Expanding Access to Palliative & Hospice Care

Hospice Philippines, together with APHN, the Ruth Foundation, WHO Philippines, and partners, launched the National Faculty Development Program to strengthen palliative and hospice care nationwide.

Key highlights:

Training & Mentorship: Builds a pool of faculty to serve as trainers and mentors, ensuring expertise reaches hospitals and communities across the country.

Benefit Package Roll-out: Prepares the health workforce for the upcoming Philippine Palliative & Hospice Care Benefit Package, expanding services to families and communities most in need.

Government Commitment: The Department of Health reaffirmed its support to institutionalize palliative and hospice care as an essential part of the national health system.
